Programs
Faculty Research Awards
The Creativity, Research, & Scholarship Awards are the most prestigious awards bestowed by the Office of Research. They are presented to innovative faculty members who have distinguished themselves in their activities. Nominations are typically accepted in the fall then reviewed and scored by the UNO Research Council.
Internal Grants
Tenured or tenure-track faculty and retained instructors can apply for the Office of Research's internal grant programs, which are reviewed and ranked by the Research Council. Eligible UNO faculty and research employees are encouraged to apply for one of these awards as a means of honing their grant-making skills and developing new areas of research or scholarly endeavors. Proposals are typically accepted in the fall.
New Faculty Startup
The New Faculty Startup Program provides supplemental funding for faculty startup costs. This program鈥檚 objectives are to make UNO competitive in hiring the highest quality faculty who have the greatest research potential and to support research targets in the campus strategic plan.
InnovateUNO
UNO's annual research symposium spotlights the investigative work being conducted on our campus and in our research community. If you are engaged in research, scholarly, creative, or innovative projects, you can use this platform to test your ideas, network with your peers, and share your success. Students can even win awards! Undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff can present their work as posters, oral presentations, art displays, performances, or film screenings.
Achievements in Research, Creativity, & Scholarship (ARCS)
Every spring, the Office of Research hosts its annual awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of UNO students, faculty, and staff in the arenas of research, creativity, and scholarship. We recognize all those who received funding for research efforts; bestow faculty awards for career and early-career achievements; and announce the recipients of grants from the UNO internal grant program. All faculty and staff are invited to attend the ceremony.
